Eadric Streona of Mercia d. 1017

Eadric was the son of Aethelric, a thegn. The place and year of his birth is not known, but it is known that he was executed by King Cnut in December 1017. Eadric became ealdorman of Mercia and married Edgyth, the daughter of  King Aethelred the Unready. He was known for his treacherous behaviour, but managed to remain in favour with the king.
