William was born 22nd July 1136 and died 30th January 1164. He was the son of Empress Matilda and Geoffrey of Anjou and the grandson of King Henry I. Thomas Becket refused to grant him a dispensation to marry his cousin Isabelle de Warenne. He died soon afterwards.
